Vietnam Airlines received Thursday the first of eight Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft ordered to be deployed between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City as well as on long-haul routes.
The delivery on 15 August 2019 of the first of the eight Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner leased to ALC by the Vietnamese national carrier based at Hanoi-Noi Bai airport was accompanied by no further details on its future routes. The aircraft is configured in two classes with 24 seats in Business class and 343 in Economy (367 seats) and joined in the Vietnam Airlines fleet eleven Boeing 787-9 with two different configurations (28 + 283 and 28 + 35 + 211).

ALC says it is « extremely pleased to announce this first major Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner delivery to Vietnam Airlines with Boeing and to be the first charter company to present the -10 to the airline », according to its executive chairman Steven F. Udvar- Hazy. The first of eight Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner « will contribute significantly to the ongoing renewal of its fleet of large aircraft with the latest technology », which allows Vietnam Airlines to « maintain its leading position in Southeast Asia and the world. « .
