Binter took possession Thursday of the first of the five Embraer E195-E2 expected, becoming a launch company of the type in Europe.
The former Binter Canarias welcomed on Nov. 21 at Embraer facilities in São José dos Campos the first of five Brazilian jets ordered firm since last November, for an estimated price of $ 342 million at list price. Configured with 132 seats in a single class, the new aircraft will be deployed by Binter on its network comprising eight cities in the Canary Islands, nine cities in Africa and two cities in Portugal. Last year, the Spanish company based at the Gran Canaria airport transported 3.6 million passengers, with a fleet now comprising seven ATR 72-500, fifteen 72-600 and three Bombardier CRJ1000 hired.
